The Green Zones Program will prevent and mitigate toxic pollutant emissions from industrial uses located near sensitive uses through land use regulation and by providing necessary support to encourage business compliance. In order to collaborate with communities with transparency on this effort, the project will focus on rigorous community engagement within East Los Angeles and Florence-Firestone, unincorporated communities that exhibit some of the highest pollution and socioeconomic burdens in the State based on CalEnviroScreen 3.0.
