The North Yuba Water District (Recipient) planning project will consist of providing engineering and final design for the Forbestown Ditch, which is an unlined open conveyance canal of approximately 10 miles. There have been water losses due to leakage and evaporation of 50-70 percent of water received from the diversion point to the Forbestown Water Treatment Plant (FWTP). Aluminum concentrations have been reported to be higher than the Maximum Contaminant Level limit of 200 micrograms per liter as raw water proceeds to the FWTP. The planning project will provide an updated engineering report with a summary of evaluated alternatives based on their pre-design geotechnical & surveying and select a construction project. The environmental CEQA/NEPA documents will be developed for the selected construction project. The Recipient proposed project will include the development of plans & specifications for a pipeline along the existing alignment of the Forbestown Ditch.
The Recipient will provide the following deliverables for the planning project:
1. Design Basis Memorandum.
2. Pre-Design Geotechnical & Surveying Report.
3. Updated Engineering Report with summary of evaluated alternatives and selected construction project.
4. CEQA/NEPA required documents.
5. Draft (95%) and Final Plans, Specifications, and Cost Estimate.
*Construction app was originally submitted but not ready to proceed. Converted to planning in June 2016.
North Yuba Water District
This planning project will consist of repair and replacing an existing unlined open conveyance canal of approximately 10 miles. The water system currently experiences water losses due to leakage and evaporation of 50-70 percent of the water received.
