Project: Investigating the Factors That Affect Age-0 Longfin Smelt

Description: Funds for this Project will be used to conduct scientific studies to the understand the mechanisms underlying the relationship between longfin smelt (Spirinchus thaleichthys) abundance and freshwater flow, in an effort to understand the species' decline. The Project will examine finescale distribution, tidal marsh habitat use, and movements of young longfin smelt using traditional methods in conjunction with new Smelt Cam technology.
