Project: City of Chico Storm Water Resource - Planning Project

Description: The proposed project will develop a Big Chico Creek watershed-wide Storm Water Resource Plan (SWRP) to manage runoff pollutants at the source to prevent impacts on Big Chico Creek, the watershed, and ultimately the Sacramento River. The SWRP will integrate green infrastructure and LID BMPs into development design standards. The SWRP will encourage collaborations among neighboring MS4 entities (California State University Chico and Butte County) in order to better align individual storm water program objectives, share resources, and identify cost-saving opportunities. The project also seeks to maximize benefits within Disadvantaged Communities (DACs) and prioritize LID projects to retrofit parking lots, greenways, and residential/commercial areas that are designed to restore storm water and dry weather runoff infiltration capacity.
