Project: City of Ukiah Russian River - Planning Project

Description: This proposed effort focuses on management of storm water resources within the natural hydrologic boundary of the Russian River watershed, and will be coordinated by a well-established organization, the Russian River Watershed Association (RRWA), which represents the basin's 11 NPDES co-permittees in order to coordinate and leverage the resources of each entity toward efficient, effective, and equitable watershed management. The City of Ukiah serves as the Administrative Agency for the purpose of implementing the RRWA MOU. This project consists of two primary concurrent and integrated tasks: the development of a regional Storm Water Resource Management Plan (SWRP) for the Russian River watershed; and the establishment of a governance structure and process for a new Regional Water Quality Monitoring Program for the 1500 square mile watershed.
