Project: City of Eureka Watershed Storm Water Resource - Planning Project

Description: The project involves the completion of a Eureka Area Watershed Stormwater Resource Plan (SWRP). The proposed SWRP is a regional collaboration effort between the City of Eureka, Humboldt County, and Humboldt Community Services District who share administrative boundaries and provide water and sewer service within Humboldt County. The SWRP will provide the Eureka Area the opportunity to better understand the existing stormwater systems, including new mapping of the systems, development of a hydrology/ hydraulic model, assessment of possible interconnections between the stormwater and wastewater systems, both through possible direct connections and through indirect connections via overland flow from flooding, and lastly evaluate sea level rise maps on these systems. The project will result in a SWRP meeting state water code requirements including the identification and prioritization of project opportunities to improve stormwater resources and water quality in the region.
