Project: Santa Margarita WD- Trampas Canyon Recycled Water Seasonal Storage Reservoir

Description: Santa Margarita Water District (SMWD) will construct a recycled water reservoir to provide seasonal storage for its existing and proposed recycled water system. Recycled water will be supplied by the Chiquita Water Reclamation Plant (CWRP) and may be supplemented by other non-domestic water supply sources. Construction includes converting an existing dam and reservoir to a reservoir for seasonal storage or recycled water, inlet/outlet pipelines and pumping facilities to store recycled water produced at the reclamation plant or collected from urban return flows of foreign water. The potential water storage capacity is up to 5,000 ac-ft per year.
