Project: Remote Sensing Irrigation Efficiency Technical Assistance

Description: This technical assistance project includes development of a comprehensive geospatial crop evapotranspiration (ET) dataset for the entire Kern Subbasin using remote sensing technology. The remote sensing geospatial dataset and trends analysis will be provided to each of the participating water districts for their use in planning and evaluation of crop ET at the farm or field level and to identify location-specific opportunities for improved irrigation efficiency. Project also includes purchase, installation, and initial operation of two surface renewal weather stations, with KGA providing 50 percent local cost-share for the equipment.
