This outreach and education program will develop a regionally coordinated, training and extension education program that will build capacity in irrigated pastureland managers to proactively 1) increase on-farm water use efficiency, conservation, and protection; and 2) enhance management for environmental and agricultural production benefits. On-farm demonstration sites will be developed to highlight monitoring techniques and cost-benefit analysis of water, nutrient, and grazing best management practices. Field workshops will be conducted to highlight the demonstration sites’ results and provide for hands-on training to teach monitoring-based adaptive management strategies and for planning and reporting use of inputs and management practices. An online interactive information hub will also be developed to enable users to access information and decision-support tools for irrigated pastureland management.
