Project: Russian River Floodplain Restoration: Hanson Windsor Ponds Design and Permitting

Description: Endangred Habitats Conservancy shall develop federal and state environmenal compliance documents, permit applications, a reclamation plan and final designs for a 357-acre habitat restoration and recreational improvement project along the Russian River near Windsor. The project goal is to re-establish a stable, seasonal river-floodplain connection to restore essential ecological processes and functions to sustain off-channel aquatic, wetland, riparian, and upland habitats crucial for recovery of fish and wildlife. Additional goals are to accomodate public access for recreation and environmental education compatible with the ecological restoration goals.
