Project: Joshua Basin Chromium VI Remediation - Planning Project

Description: Problem: Joshua Basin Water District serves 9,514 customers through 6,233 service connections. This water system operates five active groundwater wells to meet its drinking water demand. On June17, 2015, Division of Drinking Water issued a Compliance Order No. 05-13-15R-003 to the water system for violating the hexavalent chromium primary drinking water standard Project: The planning project includes drilling a test well and conduct pilot studies at the existing wells, to evaluate alternatives to meet the hexavalent chromium primary drinking water standard. The alternatives include developing new production wells and/or installing hexavalent chromium treatment system at the existing wells.
