To start, the company needs it own wells, two minimum. A parcel of land on State Highway 18 to the west of the company's system is available which has a commercial well in a good groundwater area. The current well may not meet casing size for a commercial well so a new well will most likely need to be established at a deeper depth. Likewise, on the east side of the system there is another parcel of land available for establihing a new well which will serve that side of the system. 6400 lineal feet of 6" and 2300 lineal feet of 8" new main lines will be needed to loop the system, one loop on the west and two loops on the east. The company owns two 10,000 gallon storage tanks that could be used on the west side. The east side will need a new 50,000 gallon tank of either one steel tank or 4-12,500 gallon fiber composite tanks. Also, all customers water meters are at least 10 to 15 years old and need replacement. That's 49 meters now. Additional standpipes, thrust blocks, block valves, road crossing borings, pavement repair, etc. will need to be done to complete the project. This will allow the company to come up to current safe drinking water standards with compliant wells and proper system structure.
