The Coastal Conservancy provided a grant to the Resource Conservation District of Santa Cruz County (RCDSCC) to run an Integrated Watershed Restoration Program (IWRP) in Santa Cruz County. The Integrated Watershed Restoration Program will undertake the planning, design and permitting of watershed projects in Santa Mateo, Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. In Phase 4, the IWRP team will continue to work with restoration partners such as land trusts, county public works departments, the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, CalFire, the Central Coast Wetland Group, the California Department of Parks and Recreation,and others undertake at least 20 high value projects that are apporved and supported by the IWRP members. Funds will be used to help implement a number of projects in San Mateo, Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties including the following: Cahill Dam Removal; Soquel Creek Corridor Restoration; Lower Scott Creek Enhancement; Corralitos Creek Fish Passage Improvements; Santa Rita Creek Ecological Restoration; Big Sur Riverside Campground Fish Barrier Removal; and Memorial Park Fish Barrier Removal.
