Project: Washington Union - Consolidation of Washington Colony and Washington Union Schools

Description: The scope of the construction project is to drill a new well, consolidate the Washington Colony School (WCS) with the Washington Union High School (WUHS), and creating a JPA which will have the water authority and responsibility to manage the ongoing operations and maintenance of the newly formed NTNC water system. A new well (Well No. 4) will be constructed on the southeast corner of Lincoln Avenue and Clara Avenue located within the WUHS District-owned property. A transmission pipeline between the schools and fire hydrants will be constructed within County of Fresno existing road rights-of-way. The proposed pipeline alignment will be selected to avoid conflicts with existing facilities and to meet regulatory requirements for health and safety hazards. No new property will need to be acquired. The new pipeline will be connected to the existing WCS school system at two points along the north side of the campus. The irrigation system booster pump will be isolated from the potable system by a backflow preventer. The capacity of the WCS well will be increased by installing a new pump along with upgraded electrical and controls as needed.
