Project: Bryte Landfill Remediation

Description: The old Bryte Landfill, now closed, is adjacent to the existing north levee of the Sacramento Bypass near its confluence with the Yolo Bypass east levee. The alignment of the new Yolo Bypass and Sacramento Bypass levees could potentially leave this landfill site within the floodway and result in dispersal of its potentially toxic materials. Site remediation is necessary to remove and relocate the landfill materials. Bryte Landfill is located near the west end of the north side of Sacramento bypass. This project provides the design, engineering, permitting, real estate acquisition, and remediation of approximately 13 acres of landfill. Total project amount includes State support costs for project implementation.
