Project: Coastal Ocean Currents Monitoring Program

Description: California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) hydraulic engineering staff is assisting the Conservancy with its fish passage enhancement and other watershed projects. DFG engineering staff visits project sites with Conservancy staff and grantees to discuss design considerations and reviews project designs to ensure their soundness and consistency with DFG criteria. DFG technical assistance and input is helping the Conservancy implement the recommendations of its Inventory of Barriers to Fish Passage in California’s Coastal Watersheds and will greatly improve the likelihood that Conservancy-funded fish passage and watershed projects will succeed.
