A statewide vulnerability assessment of natural resources (beaches, wetlands, other natural areas) that are at risk from sea level rise (SLR) in California. This project will result in at least one detailed report and the development of Geographic Information System (GIS) datasets. The vulnerability assessment will identify areas where significant coastal habitat that may be constrained from migration in response to sea level rise by the presence of infrastructure (highways, power plants, wastewater treatment plants, urban areas). The project will also develop indices to identify a range of conservation priorities, including areas suitable for acquisition, mitigation, and restoration, and apply this index within a spatial analysis.
