Project: Visalia, City of- Water Conservation Plant Upgrade Project

Description: The WCP will be adding an influent pump and odor control system to their Headwork's. Four centrifugal primary sludge pumps will be replaced with positive displacement pumps since the four pumps are not capable of pumping sludge with solids concentrations about 3.5%. An inter-stage pump station will be added between the primary sedimentation basin and the aeration basins. The secondary treatment process will be converted to a biological membrane reactor process. The addition of a UV disinfection facility will replace chlorine disinfection process. A recycled water pump station will be piped from the UV disinfection facility to a new regulating reservoir prior to delivery to Tulare Irrigation District, other recycled water users, or to Percolation Basin No. 4.
