Prior to the seismic event on August 24, 2014, a significant number of particles suspended inside the storage tank. After the seismic event, the turbidity at the storage tank was excessive and Mendocino District Office received customer complaints about the water quality issues. In order to solve the water quality problem and reduce turbidity, the water system would vacuum the storage tank to reduce the particles. The funds will be used to vacuum the water tank.
