Project: Coyote Ridge - UTC Property Acquisition

Description: In 2015 the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority acquired the 1831-acre Coyote Ridge - UTC property for inclusion into the Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve. The property was acquired in a bargain sale and the seller, UTC Corporation, is taking credit for the donated value through the Natural Heritage Preservation Tax Credit Program. The Conservancy funding will be used to reimburse the State General Fund for the amount of the tax credits claimed by the seller over the next several years, up to an amount of $1,000,000. Other State funding for this acquisition came from the Wildlife Conservation Board and the State Parks Recreational Trails Program. Federal, private and local funds were also used for the acquisition.
