Project: Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park: Reduce fuel load in sandhills

Description: Contract with CCC crews to cut and stack 10 acres of sandhill chaparral vegetation. Fuel will be reduced along strategic lines that will aid in wildfire suppression. This work will be guided by a technical supervisor from the district natural resources staff. Park staff will burn these piles under a prescribed fire plan that already exists. No documents exist for the wildfire plan and the vegetation manipulation.
