Project: Coastal Storm Model for Southern California

Description: Grant to the University of Southern California Sea Grant Program to work with the U.S. Geological Survey to develop a coastal storm model to support hazard and vulnerability assessments in the Southern California area from Point Conception to the U.S.-Mexican border, including the Channel Islands and coastal embayments. The model (CoSMoS) will be made available to federal, state, and local agencies and to coastal communities in order to conduct coastal hazard and sea-level rise vulnerability assessments that will underpin adaptation strategies to protect coastal infrastructure and natural resources .
