Project: Lassen Foothills Conservation Area, Expansion 8 (Lower Deer Creek Falls)

Description: To acquire fee title to 599± acres of land for the expansion of the Lassen Foothills Conservation Area, located northeast of Chico along a State Highway 32 in Tehama County.

Objective: To protect approximately 1.4 miles of riparian corridor along Deer Creek, including Deer Creek Falls and surrounding conifer forest and oak woodlands, and continue to provide appropriate wildlife-oriented public use. The proposed acquisition area includes habitat for deer and mountain lions, spring-run Chinook salmon and mountain yellow-legged frog.
