The proposed acquisition satisfies on the criteria of PRC Section 75071 (a) for the following reason: (a)  the project will protect 3094 ± acres of habitat that contribute to linking existing protected properties within Plumas County’s.  The rangeland areas include mixed conifer forests, riparian and wetland habitat and provide habitat linkages utilized by deer herds and a variety of other wildlife species. 

Bond Section Providing Funding for Project:  Public Resources Code Section 75055 (b)(1)(B) & (C): The sum of $1,993,500,000 is continuously appropriated for acquisition and protection of habitat that accomplishes the following objectives;(B) Provides corridors linking separate habitat areas to prevent fragmentation; in this case fragmented into smaller ranchette type developments and (C) protects significant natural landscapes that includes mixed conifer forests, riparian and wetland areas.
